The rules for using Octag.

These terms cover octagai.com, the Octag app and Octag phone lines during early access. Octag AI LLC runs Octag. By signing in or using Octag you agree to them. Questions: hello@octagai.com.

What Octag is

Octag is an AI assistant. It answers calls that are forwarded to your Octag number, takes messages, and helps you set it up. It is software, not a person, and it can make mistakes: check the important details on a message slip before you act on them.

Not an emergency service

Octag cannot call 911 or send help. When a caller describes an emergency, Octag tells them to hang up and call 911, or 988 for someone in crisis. Never rely on Octag in an emergency.

Your part

Give Octag accurate business details: it repeats your hours, services and prices to callers. You set up call forwarding with your carrier and can switch it off at any time. Octag tells every caller it is an AI and that the call is recorded and transcribed; you are responsible for any other law that applies to your calls and your business. Don't use Octag to collect health, financial or other protected information unless we have agreed that with you in writing.

Fair use

Don't use Octag for anything illegal, fraudulent or harassing, to send spam or robocalls, or to collect payment card numbers or ID numbers (Octag refuses them). Don't try to get around Octag's safety rules, overload it, copy it, or reach anyone else's data. We may limit free use, like guest practice calls, to keep Octag running for everyone.

Early access and prices

Early access is free and needs no card. Phone numbers and paid plans open later. Before anything costs money you will see the price and agree to it, and these terms will gain the billing, renewal, cancellation and refund details first. We never charge you without your agreement.

Your information

Your settings, business details and calls belong to you. You let us process them to run Octag, which includes sending call audio and text to Google's Gemini on Google Cloud. We don't sell your information. The privacy notice says what we keep and for how long.

Our part

We work to keep Octag answering, but we can't promise it never fails: if a service it depends on is down, calls may go unanswered or messages may be late. During early access we may change, pause or end features. Octag is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those the law requires.

Limits

As far as the law allows, Octag AI LLC is not responsible for indirect or knock-on losses, such as lost business or a missed call, and its total responsibility for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and $50. Nothing here takes away rights your local consumer law gives you.

Stopping

You can stop using Octag and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing hello@octagai.com from your account's address. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms or puts callers at risk.

Changes and law

We post changes here with a new date, and tell you by email or in the app before an important change applies to you. Florida law governs these terms, except where your local consumer law gives you more protection.
